Who Likes Tofu Who Likes Meat ?

It turns out that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is.. (you've guessed it) "outraged" -again!  Team Meat's awesome creation "Super Meat Boy" goes against there ethics, or so it would seem - pretty odd- to say the least considering that Super Meat Boy is just a skinless cube shaped boy.

Maybe 350 levels of  hacksaws, blood, salt and other devices of  "meat" destruction share too many common similarities to a Tyson beef factory.

Photobucket Some choice words from the game's co- designer Edmund McMillen sparked PETA to create Team Tofu and a parody of the game's hero by creating their own, Super Tofu Boy!

Game and all.

You can actually play it

Team Meat was so flattered at the hilarious gesture that they decided to go ahead and release Super Tofu Boy as a downloadable character for the PC version.

Let's hope that this download will be available for other consoles in the near future.

PETA endorses the slogan: "Vegetarian make better lovers"

Maybe this could be a new plot twist for Super Meat Boy and his sweetheart, Bandage Girl..

..Who knows.. anyway-

see what one of the designers had to say!

How Do You Play?

Most males (as far as I know) prefer to stand while peeing. Most (or all) females prefer to sit while peeing. So what does peeing have to do with video games? Absolutely nothing! I've just been curious as to find out, male or female, whether you prefer to sit or stand while "playing".Photobucket
For me personally, I prefer to stand. It's not a masculinity issue, it's more of a gamestyle adjustment. I find that whenever I'm playing FPS I'm usually on my feet. Call me weird, but I really get into it this way; on the other hand, when I'm playing a 3rd person shooter like 'GOW' or 'Splinter Cell', I tend to sit down, relax and observe unique in-game details while playing - that is until I get really immersed, go online, or come really close to smashing my controller into a million-billion pieces from pure frustration.

Many of us older (arcade style) gamers out there have come accustomed to sitting and gaming, while the younger generation doesn't know any other way. But with the "Big 3" (360, PS3, Wii) utilizing motion capturing, it seems that gameplay-styles are beginning to change once again.

I've put my vote in. So how do you play?

Microsoft- The Handheld That Never Was?

PhotobucketSony is to PSP as Nintendo is to DS, Microsoft is to Zune, but no gaming equals BS! Why is Microsoft taking their time in producing a handheld device for gaming. Yeah, the Window Phone 7 is cool, I like accessing my achievements, updating my profile and playing dress-up with my avatar while deciding what movie or song I want to download. But lets face it. I want my games, man!

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind playing a scaled down version of Call of Duty Black Ops., or Geometry Wars during the long bus ride to my physics and macrobiotics classes. There hasn't been any recent talk concerning Microsoft's ambitions towards leaping into the handheld market since about 2008. I did some research and found some interesting details from a source affiliated with Microsoft that wished to remain anonymous for obvious reasons:

Photobucket

  • The device's code name is referred to as "xYz"
Notice the capital "Y" as if indicating it's capabilities lies somewhere between Xbox and Zune.
  • Ability to upload, download, and transfer movies, music, and games between your Xbox and the xYz device.
The source also stated that the device could be thought of as a mix of the Sony Mylo, PSP, and iPod touch.
  • Possible WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) a communication technology that provides broadband access to the internet without wires.
Please don't confuse this with Wi-Fi which needs a physical router to relay information to and from a portable device. WiMax is true 4G technology.
  • xYz will utilize live search services like maps, traffic, weather and videos -possibly even more.
As of June 17, 2010 Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer gave us a little insight pertaining to their merger with Motorola and the future of handhelds for the industry giant. Check out the vid.
It seems that whatever handheld device that Microsoft is truly taking their time in releasing, the hardware itself could possibly be manufactured (in part) with Motorola - a very reliable company; our government and military have been dependent upon their technology for - God knows how long.

Either way, Microsoft needs to kick it into gear; especially with the upcoming releases of Sony's PSP2 and Nintendo's next-gen. 3DS.

I'm constantly searching for new intel on this ridiculous matter so stay tuned..
